RN - CVICU

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Every other weekend (EOW) required
• No self-scheduling - travelers fill in open shifts and must be flexible on scheduling
• No on-call or standby requirement
• Unit has 18 beds with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:2, occasionally 1:1
• Required to float to similar units as first priority
• Two 12-hour shifts of unit/department specific orientation provided
• Common diagnoses include heart failure, STEMI, pulmonary emboli, arrhythmias, and MICU overflow
• Must be proficient with ventilators, managing pressors, and hemodynamics including PAC, CVP, and arterial lines
• Experience with sheaths, IABP, Impella, and CRRT required
• Must be capable of paralysis and sedation management including BIS and TOF monitoring
• Required to titrate drips including epinephrine, norepinephrine, vasopressin, dobutamine, milrinone, amiodarone, and cardene
• Must interpret own cardiac monitor strips using HP monitoring systems
• Ventilator troubleshooting required, including ability to intervene in emergency situations such as self-extubation or trach dislodgement
• Must be able to suction competently and identify issues requiring escalation
• EPIC electronic documentation system required
• Dress code: teal tops and bottoms, solid or coordinating non-terrycloth jackets
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• Minimum 3+ years of experience strongly preferred
• Previous travel experience preferred
• Prior experience in a high-volume, busy hospital setting preferred
