CVICU RN Job in San Antonio, TX

Methodist Hospital in San Antonio is seeking an experienced RN for a 13-week contract position in the Cardiac Vascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU). You will provide direct patient care in a dynamic critical-care setting, working with complex cardiac patients and advanced monitoring equipment.

Shift and Schedule

• 12.5-hour day shifts, 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
• 36 guaranteed hours per week
• Rotating weekend schedule
• No call requirements
• Clock-in at 6:38 AM/PM; clocking in after 6:45 AM/PM is considered tardy

Clinical Responsibilities

• Manage post-CABG, post-VAD, and post-catheterization patients with various cardiac support devices
• Monitor hemodynamics using Swan-Ganz catheters and arterial lines
• Manage ventilator-dependent patients
• Provide care using Meditech documentation system
• Float to other units per Methodist Floating Policy as needed

Required Qualifications

• Active Texas RN license (no temporary licenses)
• Minimum 2+ years ICU experience
• ACLS, BLS, and NIH certifications
• Hemodynamic monitoring experience
• Ventilator management experience
• Strong critical thinking skills

Preferred Skills

• IABP exposure
• CRRT exposure
• Meditech charting experience

Compensation and Duration

• Weekly pay: $1,674
• 13-week assignment (26 weeks available)
• Start date: September 22, 2026

Facility Information

You will take a full 30-minute lunch break each shift and must badge in and out. Dress code requires navy scrub top and pants with navy or white scrub jacket.
