Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour shifts across multiple campuses including Iowa Methodist Medical Center and Iowa Lutheran
• Every other weekend schedule required
• No on-call responsibilities
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4-5 on days and 1:5-6 on nights (occasionally 1:7 based on higher needs)
• 30-bed unit caring for patients including hip/knee, mastectomies, and abdominal surgery cases
• Administer drips including PCA and Heparin
• Required to work 1-2 of 3 upcoming summer holidays (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day) unless unit is closed
• Minimum 24 months of Medical Surgical experience in a hospital or medical center setting required
• Post-operative surgical experience highly preferred
• Patient care experience with hip/knee, mastectomies, and abdominal surgeries highly preferred
• PCA and Heparin experience required
• EPIC EMR experience required
• Required certifications: BLS (AHA or ARC)
• Active Iowa nursing license or compact/multistate license required at time of submission
• Skills checklist specific to Medical Surgical or Medical Surgical/Telemetry required
• Professional reference from a charge nurse, supervisor, nurse manager, director, CNO, or COO within the past 24 months preferred
• Valid driver's license required
