RN - Med Surg

Job Details:

• 3x12 shift schedule
• Rotating holidays and weekends required
• Block scheduling is not available
• Patient ratios: 1:5-6 (Days: 5, Nights: 5, Weekends: 6)
• Work on an adult and geriatric Medical-Surgical unit caring for patients with a wide variety of medical and surgical conditions
• Manage complex patients with multiple comorbidities while providing both pre- and post-operative care
• Must be able to independently interpret cardiac rhythms
• Minimum 2 years of Medical-Surgical RN experience required
• Previous travel nursing experience required
• Active Maryland RN license or Compact RN license required at time of submission
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• MEDITECH charting system experience required
• Must be comfortable caring for a diverse adult and geriatric patient population with complex medical conditions and post-operative needs
• Strong assessment skills, cardiac rhythm interpretation, and ability to manage multiple high-acuity patients required
• Special equipment used includes Sara Steady and Hoyer Lift
• Skills required include BiPAP/CPAP management, blood product administration, cardiac telemetry, central line care and management, heparin protocols, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, wound care and wound vac, telemetry monitoring, PCA, PICC line management, and starting and maintaining IVs
