ICU Registered Nurse Job in Columbia, SC

You'll work as a Registered Nurse in the ICU at Prisma Health Baptist LTACH Hospital, a long-term acute care facility in Columbia, SC. This is a night shift role on a 4x12 schedule, Monday through Friday, totaling 40 hours per week. The contract runs 91 days, beginning September 28, 2026.

Your responsibilities:

• Provide direct patient care in a 12-bed ICU unit and float to the 35-bed Med-Surg unit as needed (1:5 patient ratio)
• Manage a daily census of 35 patients, primarily adults and geriatrics (18 years and older)
• Care for patients with conditions including vent weaning, wound care, spinal cord injury, and tracheostomy or PEG needs
• Perform arterial line management, central line care, and IV vasopressor administration
• Support mechanical ventilation modes and weaning protocols
• Manage tracheostomy care and continuous IV sedation
• Interpret dysrhythmias and respond to acute patient changes
• Participate in on-call responsibilities after 5:00 PM daily and weekends via rotating schedule among 6 to 8 staff members

What you need:

• Current RN license
• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience
• Neurology experience required
• 1 year minimum experience with Epic EMR
• Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications
• LTAC experience, previous charge experience, and community hospital experience preferred

Support and scheduling:

• Block scheduling model with flexible contract options (13 or 26 weeks available)
• 36 or 48 hour work weeks are acceptable
• Weekend coverage supported by rotating call schedule
• Interdisciplinary team includes physical therapy, respiratory services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, pharmacy, and unit secretary
