ED RN Job in Muncie, IN

IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse for its 48-bed Emergency Department in Muncie, Indiana. This is a 91-day travel assignment beginning November 4, 2026, with a weekly pay rate of $2,173.

Position Details

• Schedule: 3x12-hour night shifts per week
• Patient ratio: 1:4 for regular ED patients; 4:1 for progressive holds and 5:1 for medical holds
• Charge nurse responsibilities required
• 100% floating within the hospital or to affiliate facilities as needed
• Department can flex from 48 to 62 beds using hall beds

Requirements

• Active RN license
• Minimum 3 years of ED experience
• Level 2 trauma experience required
• Current ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications
• Indiana residents not accepted for this position
• First-time travelers welcome

Clinical Skills

You will manage combined adult and pediatric patients of all ages, including neonates, infants, and geriatric populations. The ED averages 6.6 behavioral health patients daily. Required skills include dysrhythmia interpretation and management, phlebotomy, IV insertion and maintenance, continuous IV sedation, IV vasopressors, procedural sedation administration and monitoring, BiPAP/CPAP management, ventilated patient care, and appropriate isolation precautions and PPE use.

• NIHSS
• TNCC
