Med Surg RN Job in Schuyler, NE

CHI Health Schuyler is seeking an RN for a 91-day travel assignment on the Medical-Surgical unit. You will work 3 shifts of 12 hours on nights, scheduled either 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM or 6:30 AM to 7:00 PM, with self-scheduling subject to manager approval.

Unit Overview

• 10-bed Med/Tele Swing Unit serving adult, geriatric, and occasional pediatric patients
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:3–4 with nurse aides and patient care technicians at 1:8 ratio
• Charge nurse present on each shift and carries an assignment
• Common diagnoses include swing bed patients requiring IV antibiotics, therapy, or wound care, plus medical patients with diabetes, pancreatitis, and pneumonia

Scheduling & Expectations

• Weekend requirement: at minimum every 3rd weekend, sometimes every other weekend
• Holiday rotation per unit needs
• May float to the ED as backup when patient volumes surge
• Scrub color: Navy Blue
• Artificial nails prohibited in all patient care departments

Orientation & Requirements

• 2 days of unit-specific orientation
• Pass/Fail open-book exam during orientation; minimum 90% score required to pass
• Charting system: EPIC
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS
• BSN not required
• Valid driver's license required at submission
• Must reside outside 50-mile radius

Compensation

Weekly pay: $2,306.88
