Med Surg RN Job in Longmont, CO

Longmont United Hospital is seeking an RN for a night shift position on a 36-bed Med/Surg & Telemetry unit. This is a 91-day travel assignment starting November 16, 2026, working 3x12 shifts at $2,084 per week.

Role and Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4, supported by nurse aide coverage at 1:5 ratio
• Titrate drips including analgesics, anticoagulants, and antihypertensives as prescribed
• Read and interpret telemetry strips; escalate concerns to physicians when needed (no monitor techs on unit)
• Manage respiratory support including CPAP, BiPAP, high flow oxygen, and ventilators
• Apply NIHSS assessment as required
• Chart in EPIC electronic health record system

Unit Details

This acute care, Trauma Level 3 facility treats patients with congestive heart failure, hypertension, chest pain work-ups, COPD exacerbations, asthma, pneumonia, pancreatitis, bowel obstructions, gastrointestinal bleeding, and acute renal failure.

Scheduling and Requirements

• Minimum 6 weekend shifts required per 6-week schedule
• Holiday shifts required
• Self-scheduling and block scheduling options available
• First-to-float position; potential to float within Zone 3 based on department needs
• Cancellation policy: up to 4 shifts may be cancelled per 13-week assignment (3 shifts for shorter assignments)
• Must be located within 60 miles of facility; valid driver's license required
• No specific scrub color or dress code requirement

Qualifications

• Current RN license
• ACLS (AHA) certification required
• BLS (AHA) certification required
• Experience with NIHSS required
• BSN not required
