Med Surg RN Job in Albany, GA

Opportunity:

RN - Acute Med Surg

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour day shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
• Every other weekend schedule required
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:6 for both day and night shifts
• 14-bed unit specializing in acute medical-surgical care
• Minimum 2 years of experience required in specialty and 1 travel assignment
• Required certifications: BLS (AHA) and NIHSS
• ACLS preferred
• Care for patients with diabetes, CHF, COPD, GI bleeds, renal failure, dialysis patients, post-surgical overflow, amputations, wound care, DVTs, ETOH, and psychiatric conditions
• Administer medications including Lasix, Bumex, and Heparin
• Use CPAP equipment and BiPAP (night shifts only)
• Work with CNA support at 1:12 ratio, may be pulled for 1:1 sitters
• Must have experience with high acuity, fast-paced environment at larger organizations
• Strict attendance policy enforced
• Dress code: Caribbean blue scrubs (top and bottom) OR white top with Caribbean blue bottom OR all white
• Natural nails only with polish allowed - no artificial or shellac nails
• Charting system: MEDITECH
• Must live within 75-mile radius of facility
• Float to acute care and cardiology units as needed
• 12-hour cancellation policy every 2 weeks
