Oncology RN Job in Raleigh, NC

You will work as an RN in the outpatient oncology clinic at University of North Carolina Health Care System in Raleigh, NC. This is a 20-week contract position with a Monday through Friday schedule from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. No alternative schedules are available due to clinic hours.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Administer chemotherapy and biotherapy infusions, blood products, IV iron, fluids, and electrolytes
• Perform port lab draws and injections
• Provide patient and family education and emotional support
• Coordinate and deliver patient care utilizing the nursing process
• Assess and anticipate discharge needs of individual patients and families
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to evaluate and update patient care plans
• Demonstrate competence in care of patients with complex problems, including physical, psychosocial, educational, and safety aspects
• Perform bedside point-of-care testing as required
• Organize and prioritize care according to patient and family needs

Required qualifications:

• Active North Carolina RN license
• At least 1 year of nursing experience
• At least 2 years of outpatient chemotherapy and immunotherapy infusion experience
• Nursing diploma, ADN, or ASN (BSN or MSN preferred)
• AHA or ARC BLS certification
• ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy Immunotherapy certification (ONS Fundamentals of Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Administration is not accepted)

You will earn $2,556 per week for this 8-hour shift role.
