Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg

Job Details:

• Night shift position on a 37-bed Medical Surgical unit
• Nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:4/5 on days and 1:5/6 on nights
• Minimum of 6-9 weekend shifts required per 6-week schedule
• Holiday shifts required
• Self-scheduling and block scheduling available
• Care for patients with common diagnoses including heart failure (CHF), pneumonia, COPD exacerbations, and general Med Surg patients
• Acute care nursing experience required
• Must be competent in reading telemetry strips; Phillips Telemetry system centrally monitored off the unit
• Manage set rate drips including analgesics for pain, anticoagulants for blood clots, and antihypertensives for blood pressure control; no titration of drips required
• Moderate oxygen needs managed on the unit including CPAP, BiPAP, and high flow
• Nurse aides available at a 1:12 ratio
• Floating may be required within Zone 3 based on department needs, including ICU (low acuity holds), PCU/Stepdown, and MS-Tele
• Charting performed in EPIC
• Navy blue scrubs required
• Must be present in state for week of orientation
• Must reside within 60 miles of facility; driver's license must be submitted
• Hospital may cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment or 3 shifts for assignments less than 13 weeks
• Required certifications: BLS (AHA)
