Med Surg RN Job in Pagosa Springs, CO

Pagosa Springs Medical Center is seeking a registered nurse for its Med Surg unit. You'll work day shifts from 7:15 AM to 6:45 PM on a 3x12 schedule, providing 36 guaranteed hours per week for a 91-day assignment beginning October 26, 2026.

Your Responsibilities:

• Deliver observation and inpatient care to patients on the Med Surg unit
• Perform comprehensive patient assessments, develop care plans, and execute nursing interventions with ongoing reassessment and evaluation
• Administer medications, IV therapy, oxygen therapy, blood products, and other prescribed treatments accurately and on time
• Operate infusion pumps and maintain accurate electronic health record documentation using Cerner and Care Compass
• Demonstrate competency in cardiac monitoring and rhythm interpretation
• Provide patient and family education on disease processes, treatment plans, medications, pain management, wound care, and discharge planning
• Use SBAR format to transfer care when appropriate
• Adhere to infection prevention practices, universal precautions, and National Patient Safety Goals
• Collaborate with providers, nursing staff, and other departments to support interdisciplinary care
• Mentor other nursing staff and contribute to continuous learning initiatives

Requirements:

• Current Colorado or Compact RN license
• Graduate of an accredited RN program
• Minimum 5 years of Med Surg or Emergency Room nursing experience
• Previous travel nursing experience
• Cerner EHR/EMR experience required
• Current AHA BLS certification
• Current ACLS certification
• Current PALS certification
• Basic computer skills and electronic health record proficiency

You will demonstrate professionalism, teamwork, service excellence, sound judgment, and adaptability while working independently in a fast-paced environment. Weekly pay is $2,361.
