Med Surg RN Job in Sioux City, IA

UnityPoint - St. Luke's Regional Medical Center in Sioux City, IA is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for a 91-day travel assignment in Medical-Surgical nursing. You'll work the night shift on a 24-hour schedule with every third weekend required. No on-call responsibilities.

Role and Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a Med Surg unit treating orthopedic, urology, general surgery, oncology, and medical patients
• Administer drips including Heparin, PCA, and epidural; administer chemotherapy if certified
• May float within the same discipline across local campuses
• Work 2 of 3 winter holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas Day, and New Year's Day

Compensation and Schedule

Weekly pay is $2,280.96. You'll receive 16 guaranteed hours during the non-billable orientation period. Billable overtime applies between 36–40 hours per week depending on agreement terms. Assignment begins October 26, 2026.

Requirements

• Active Iowa state nursing license
• 2+ years of Med Surg and/or Oncology experience
• High-acuity care experience preferred
• Current ACLS and BLS (AHA preferred; ARC or US Military certificates also accepted)
• NIHSS certification required
• Skills checklist specific to Med Surg discipline required
• 1 Supervisory Reference Form completed within the last two years
• Valid driver's license and residency at least 50 miles from the facility
• Prior travel experience preferred; first-time travelers accepted

Additional Information

Navy Blue scrubs are required. The facility uses Epic as its EMR system. This is an excellent opportunity to gain experience in a high-acuity Med Surg setting while enjoying the stability of a defined schedule with no on-call duties.
