Med Surg RN Job in Atlantic, IA

You'll work as a Registered Nurse in a flexible, float role at Cass County Memorial Hospital in Atlantic, Iowa. This position combines adult medical-surgical nursing with obstetric support, giving you the opportunity to expand your clinical skill set across two distinct patient populations.

Your Role

Your primary responsibility is providing direct nursing care to adult medical-surgical patients on the med-surg floor. When obstetric census is low, you'll support the OB unit, which includes labor and delivery, postpartum, and recovery areas. You must be comfortable transitioning between these units based on facility needs and census patterns.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care to medical-surgical adult patients
• Support obstetric patients including those in labor, postpartum recovery, and immediate postdelivery care
• Float between med-surg and OB units as needed
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure continuity of care
• Document and communicate patient status accurately

Schedule and Compensation

You'll work three 12-hour day shifts per week, providing predictable scheduling for your personal commitments. This 91-day assignment begins October 16, 2026, with weekly compensation of $3,022.20.
