PICU - Pediatric Intensive Care

RN - PICU

Job Details:

• Float Pool position requiring flexibility to float across multiple units including a 34-bed PICU, 25-bed CICU, and 112-bed NICU
• Float to acute care units including surgical, behavioral health, medical specialty (GI, neuro, respiratory), hematology oncology, step-down unit, and cardiac pediatrics
• May be floated to NICU to care for feeder growers and low acuity patients only
• Weekends and holidays required
• Level 1 Trauma experience required
• Must have trach and high flow experience
• Must be familiar with infusion and serve as first line for skills
• Assume responsibility for an assigned group of patients
• Document patient responses to nursing interventions and prescribed medical treatments
• Assist physician in patient examinations and minor diagnostic procedures
• Obtain and monitor physiological data and intervene when necessary
• Administer medications as prescribed and initiate, regulate, and monitor intravenous infusions and blood products
• Interact with patients and families to share care plans during hospitalization and at time of discharge
• Make referrals regarding patient care needs to appropriate personnel
• Delegate tasks to support staff as needed
