Physical Therapist Job in Lufkin, TX

You'll work as a Physical Therapist in acute care and inpatient rehabilitation settings across two locations in Southeast Texas. This 70-week assignment offers you the chance to develop breadth across multiple patient populations and care environments.

Work Setting and Patient Population

• Primary focus on inpatient rehabilitation unit (approximately 90% of your time)
• Secondary coverage of acute care floors: mid-level critical care, med-surgical, and orthopedic units (approximately 10% of your time)
• Manage approximately 4 inpatient rehab patients per 8-hour shift
• Required productivity: 22 units per 8-hour day

Location and Schedule Details

• November 16, 2026 – December 13, 2026: Based in Lufkin with possible weekend coverage
• December 14, 2026 – January 9, 2027: Based in Livingston, Monday through Friday, no weekends
• Schedule options: 4x10-hour shifts or 5x8-hour shifts
• Core hours: 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM Monday through Friday; additional hours available between 7:30 AM and 6:00 PM

Work Environment

• In Lufkin: Collaborate with a team of 6 physical therapists on weekdays; 1–3 PTs on weekends
• In Livingston: Work as the sole PT, requiring self-sufficiency and independent clinical judgment
• Electronic health records: Allscripts

Requirements

• Current BLS Certification
• Minimum 2 years of clinical experience
• Ability to work independently and manage patient caseload with minimal supervision
• Proficiency with documentation and charting

You'll receive $2,301 per week. The facility is CHI St Lukes Health–Memorial Lufkin, part of a larger health system serving the region. This assignment begins November 9, 2026.
