Telemetry RN Job in Alexandria, LA

Join Rapides Regional Medical Center as a Telemetry RN on the Med-Surg Telemetry unit. This is a 91-day travel assignment beginning August 10, 2026, offering three 12-hour night shifts per week (7 PM to 7 AM) at $2,233.80 weekly.

Role Overview

You will provide direct patient care on a telemetry unit with a 6:1 patient ratio. Your responsibilities include comprehensive physical assessments, acute care nursing, and detailed documentation using the Meditech system. You are expected to float to other Med-Surg and Telemetry units as needed.

Required Experience & Certifications

• Minimum one year of acute care experience
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certification
• Experience caring for acute care stroke patients
• Strong physical assessment and documentation skills
• Proficiency in time management and critical thinking

Unit Support & Resources

Unit secretaries are available from 6:00 AM to 10:00 PM, and nursing techs are present on all shifts. You will have access to iPhones for communication via the Immobile app, plus computers and scanners in every patient room for real-time documentation and workflow efficiency.

Clinical Expectations

You will be expected to demonstrate established A.I.D.E.T. behaviors, maintain knowledge of core measures, and actively work toward prevention of hospital-acquired conditions (HACs) and hospital-acquired infections (HAIs). Chemotherapy experience is a plus but not required.

Additional Details

Rotating weekends are part of the schedule. You must be willing to travel within a 50+ mile radius of the facility. Dress code requires ceil blue scrubs with an optional white or ceil blue jacket.
