Med Surg RN Job in Corpus Christi, TX

You will work as an RN in a 15-bed inpatient rehabilitation facility at Doctors Regional Medical Center in Corpus Christi, Texas. This is a Med Surg role on the 3S floor with a 13-week assignment beginning September 7, 2026.

Schedule and Staffing

You will work day shift, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., three 12-hour shifts per week. Patient ratios are 5:1, with a maximum of 6:1. Day shift includes 1 charge nurse (full patient load), 2 RNs, and 1 CNA. Every other weekend schedule is required, along with holiday coverage. On-call requirements are seldom and typically occur only when hospital census is low.

Your Responsibilities

• Perform patient transfers, bladder scans, dressing changes, and medication administration
• Follow bedside report and handoff procedures, hourly rounding, and bed alarm activation protocols
• Operate equipment including vital signs machines, transfer equipment (hoyer lift, sliding boards), EKG, and bladder scanner
• Use Meditech EMR system and Pyxis medication dispensing
• Demonstrate teamwork and take initiative in a collaborative environment

Requirements and Preferences

You must have an active RN license and current BLS certification. Transfer training and EMR proficiency are required. Rehabilitation experience and familiarity with rehab scoring documentation are preferred.

Float Assignments

You may float to Med-Surg, Telemetry, Renal, Urology, Orthopedic, and overflow units. ICU float is not included in this assignment.

Compensation

Weekly pay is $1,521. The assignment runs 91 days.
