Emergency Room RN Job in Wichita, Kansas

Join Wesley Medical Center in Wichita, Kansas as a Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department. This is a 91-day travel assignment beginning September 22, 2026, offering consistent night-shift work and competitive weekly pay of $1,926.

Role Overview

You will work three 12-hour night shifts per week from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM in a 52-bed Emergency Department. This is a fast-paced environment where you'll manage patient care independently and as part of a collaborative team. Night shift staffing includes one charge nurse, four nurses, one tech, one unit clerk, one physician, and one midlevel provider per pod.

Patient Care & Responsibilities

• Manage an average patient ratio of 3:1 for standard acuity cases and up to 5:1 for low-acuity patients (estimated, not guaranteed)
• Participate in team nursing for pediatric patients
• Perform IV starts, medication administration, and sedations
• Scan all patients and medications each time per unit policy
• Provide care across diverse patient populations in a high-volume setting

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of current hospital Emergency Department experience
• Valid BLS, ACLS, NIH, PALS, TNCC, and CPI Blue card certifications
• RN license in good standing
• Experience at a 52-bed ER or larger preferred
• Travel experience or prior work at large facility areas preferred
• Meditech EMR experience preferred
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
