PCU Registered Nurse Job in Petoskey, MI

McLaren Northern Michigan is seeking a Registered Nurse for a temporary position in our Progressive Care Unit (PCU), working days on a 3x12 schedule. This role is ideal for an experienced travel nurse ready to deliver specialized cardiac care in a step-down environment.

About the Role

You will care for cardiology patients undergoing advanced procedures including PTCA, stents, TAVR, MitraClip, and bi-ventricular pacemaker implantation. You'll also provide post-operative care for open heart surgery patients within 18–24 hours following surgery, and specialize in managing patients with congestive heart failure and electrophysiology studies. You'll use clinical judgment to diagnose and treat patient responses to actual or potential health conditions, with every other weekend schedule required and possible on-call shifts.

Requirements

• Minimum 1+ year of step-down experience
• Proficiency in cardiac care
• Demonstrated travel nursing experience
• Comfort with EKG interpretation and monitoring
• Willingness to float to similar units as needed
• Current Michigan nursing license with LARA and Nursys verification
• Active ACLS and BLS certifications
• Skills checklist completed within one year of application

Compensation & Duration

This 91-day assignment begins November 2, 2026. Weekly pay is $2,552 for 3x12 shifts.
