Med Surg RN Job in Sioux City, IA

You'll work as a Registered Nurse in the Med Surg unit at UnityPoint - St. Luke's Regional Medical Center in Sioux City, IA. This 91-day travel assignment runs 3x12 shifts on days, with an every-third-weekend schedule and no on-call responsibilities.

What You'll Do

• Care for orthopedic, urology, general surgery, oncology, and medical patients in a med surg setting
• Administer drips including Heparin, PCA, and epidural; administer chemotherapy if certified
• Float within the same discipline across local campuses as needed
• Work 2 of 3 winter holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas Day, and New Year's Day

Compensation & Schedule

• Weekly pay: $2,296
• 16 guaranteed hours during non-billable orientation
• Billable overtime applies between 36–40 hours per week depending on agreement terms
• Start date: October 26, 2026

Requirements

• Active Iowa state nursing license
• 2+ years of Med Surg and/or Oncology experience
• High-acuity care experience preferred
• Prior travel experience preferred; first-time travelers accepted
• ACLS, BLS (AHA preferred; ARC or US Military certificates also accepted), and NIHSS certifications required
• Skills checklist specific to Med Surg discipline required
• 1 Supervisory Reference Form completed within the last two years
• Valid driver's license required
• Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility based on driver's license
