Med Surg RN Job in Mason City, IA

You'll work as a Registered Nurse in Medical Surgical nursing at MercyOne North Iowa Medical Center in Mason City, IA. This is a 90-day travel assignment beginning August 24, 2026, on a nights schedule of three 12-hour shifts per week. You'll earn $2,242 weekly.

In this role, you provide direct patient care and serve as the clinical lead for your patients' hospital experience. Your core responsibilities include:

• Assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating individualized patient care needs
• Administering medications and treatments according to prescribed protocols
• Monitoring vital signs and patient conditions, documenting findings, and reporting significant changes to the care team
• Collaborating with physicians, therapists, social workers, and other interdisciplinary team members to coordinate safe, quality patient outcomes
• Maintaining accurate, thorough, and timely patient records and clinical documentation
• Educating patients and their families on health conditions, treatment plans, medications, and discharge planning

You'll work the night shift, caring for medical and surgical patients throughout their hospital stay. Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize multiple patients are essential. You must be comfortable in a fast-paced unit environment and able to work independently while supporting your team.
