PCU RN Job in Mesa, Arizona

Banner Desert Medical Center is seeking an RN for its Progressive Care Unit (PCU) in Mesa, Arizona. This is a 3x12 night shift position with an 89-day contract starting July 20, 2026. You will earn $2,684 weekly.

Your Role

You will assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and document nursing care for PCU patients according to organizational policies and professional nursing standards. Your responsibilities include:

• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments covering physical, psychological, social, spiritual, educational, developmental, cultural needs, and discharge planning requirements
• Review patient history, diagnostics, and laboratory data; report abnormal results to physicians and caregivers
• Formulate and implement individualized plans of care in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team
• Delegate and supervise activities of other licensed nurses and healthcare personnel
• Evaluate patient and family responses to care and teaching, revising plans as needed
• Document all assessments, interventions, and patient responses in a timely, legible manner
• Participate in shared leadership, staff education, precepting, and mentoring activities
• Work a varied schedule including weekends, holidays, and departmental float assignments per guidelines

Requirements

• Current, valid RN license in Arizona
• BLS certification required
• Minimum one year acute care hospital experience required; specialty area experience within the past 12 months required
• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and meet physical demands of direct patient care
• Bachelor's degree preferred
• Professional certification preferred
