Opportunity:

Surgical Tech - CVOR Tech

Job Details:

• 8-hour shifts available: 6:45 AM - 3:15 PM, 2:45 PM - 11:15 PM, and 10:45 PM - 7:15 AM
• Call is required 4-8 times per 4-week schedule and is self-scheduled
• Call hours begin at the end of your shift until 7:00 AM the next morning
• Two call teams: heart and regular
• Call response time is 30 minutes
• Weekend call required every 4th weekend for 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM and 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM shifts; variable weekend call requirement for 11:00 PM - 7:00 AM shift
• Every other weekend (EOW) requirement
• First to float policy applies
• No floating between units for techs
• 1:1 patient ratio
• Facility operates 12 general OR suites, 1 CVOR suite, and 1 hybrid room averaging 14 cases per day
• Common case types include orthopedics (total joints), gynecology, urology, trauma, ENT, general surgery, plastics, vascular, neurology, and robotics (Da Vinci)
• CVOR cases include open heart, valves, thoracotomy, and trauma procedures
• Travelers will not be required to perform CVOR procedures unless specifically requested in the job requisition
• Must have trauma, orthopedic, and general surgery experience
• Charting system: Cerner Surginet
• Scrubs are provided
• Floor-specific orientation consists of 2-3 shifts on the unit
• Holiday requirement: 1 major and 1 minor holiday in both summer and winter months
• Required certifications: BLS Certification and Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) via NBSTSA
• Trauma Level 2 facility
• Acute care setting
