OR RN Job in Lamar, CO

Prowers Medical Center is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Operating Room. This is a full-time position working a 5x8 day schedule (40 hours per week) with general hours from 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday through Friday. You will be part of a rotational call schedule averaging 1–2 days per week, with every other weekend or every third weekend on-call coverage. Occasional late days may be required to complete surgical case loads.

Key Responsibilities:

• Circulate surgical cases across multiple specialties including general, OB/GYN, ophthalmology (cataract surgery), and orthopedic procedures
• Function as the primary caregiver across pre-op, OR/circulator, and PACU areas
• Conduct thorough patient assessments and document care throughout the surgical process
• Prepare patients for surgery and provide patient education
• Provide emotional support and coordinate patient transfers
• Assist with processing instruments and equipment in central sterilizing
• Adhere to infection control principles and departmental policies, following national standards through IAHCSMM, AORN, ASGE, and ASPAN

Requirements:

• Current Colorado RN licensure
• ACLS certification required
• Must have experience in all three areas: pre-op, OR/circulator, and PACU
• 3 years of pre-op/OR/PACU experience preferred
• CNOR certification preferred
• Scrub experience preferred
• Ability to perform effectively in highly stressful situations
• Capability to handle extended periods of standing, walking, and heavy lifting
• Exposure to blood, body fluids, and infectious diseases is possible
