PCU RN Job in Hermitage, TN

You'll work as an RN in the Progressive Care Unit at Summit Medical Center in Hermitage, TN. This is a 91-day travel assignment with a start date of June 8, 2026.

Shift and Schedule

• 3 twelve-hour night shifts per week (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
• Every other weekend requirement
• Self-scheduling with 4-week schedule periods

Your Role

You'll care for patients with ratios of 1:5 to 1:6 on night shifts. You may float between PCU units or to medical-surgical floors as needed. You'll perform every 2-hour rounding on night shifts, maintain AIDET communication standards, and update communication boards.

You'll work with specialized equipment including BiPAPs, high flow oxygen, Vapotherm, Alaris pumps, cardiac drips, heparin drips, and insulin drips. You'll assist with wound VACs in conjunction with the wound care team and manage peritoneal dialysis. Documentation is completed using Meditech.

Required Skills and Experience

• BLS and ACLS certification required
• Critical thinking and EKG rhythm interpretation
• Experience with cardiac, insulin, and heparin drips
• Proficiency with BiPAPs, high flow oxygen, and multiple oxygen delivery systems
• Peripheral IV skills
• Experience with tube feedings, NG tubes, and Dobhoff tubes
• Stroke care and post-cardiac catheterization care experience
• Peritoneal dialysis experience preferred

Procedural Involvement

You'll participate in peritoneal dialysis, thoracentesis, paracentesis, chest tube insertions, central line dressing changes, and wound VAC troubleshooting.
