PCU RN Job in Nashville, TN

You'll work as a Registered Nurse in the Progressive Care Unit at Skyline Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee. This 91-day travel assignment runs 3 twelve-hour night shifts per week, from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM, with a weekly pay rate of $1,918.44.

Unit Overview

You'll care for patients on a 20-bed Neuro Med/Surg unit with a patient ratio of 6:1. Tech support is available around the clock on both day and night shifts, and a unit secretary is present from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM to support your documentation and coordination needs.

Your Responsibilities

• Provide direct bedside care using evidence-based nursing practices
• Document all patient care in the Meditech system
• Conduct and participate in bedside shift reports, including patients and families in the plan of care
• Start IVs and perform basic wound care
• Maintain and monitor surgical drains, nasogastric tubes, and chest tubes
• Operate and troubleshoot equipment including IV pumps, telemetry monitors, SCDs, continuous pulse oximetry machines, feeding pumps, PCA pumps, EKG machines, bladder scanners, and iMobile communication devices

Schedule

You'll work 3 twelve-hour shifts per week. The schedule requires 2 weekends (4 shifts) per 4-week cycle. As contract labor, you'll float by rotation when multiple contract staff are scheduled.

Requirements

• Current, active RN license in Tennessee
• BLS certification
• Med/Surg nursing experience
• Ability to prioritize and multitask in a fast-paced environment
• Strong communication and collaboration skills

Additional Details

Navy scrubs (tops and bottoms) are required. You'll demonstrate attentive and compassionate care to patients and their families throughout your assignment.
