Radiology / Cardiology - Cath Lab Tech

Job Details:

• 8-hour day shifts from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM
• 40 hours offered per week
• Contract length: 13 to 20 weeks
• Scheduling is per unit needs with no holiday RTO for this role
• Every third weekend required
• No float requirement
• Call requirement: minimum 7 call days per month; two call days per week for two weeks each month; one call weekend per month; additional coverage may be required to meet departmental needs and is rotated equitably among all staff
• Call team consists of three staff members, one of whom is an RN
• Callback time is 30 minutes for STEMIs; IR callback time is determined based on procedure type
• Assist provider while performing diagnostic and interventional radiology and cardiology procedures
• Scrub and circulate IR/Cath Lab and cardiology procedures
• Expect urgent and emergent cardiology and interventional radiology procedures
• Combo lab (IR/Cardiology/Vascular/EP) with approximately 80% IR and 10% other procedure types
• Medication administration performed by RN only
• Patient age groups: adults and geriatrics
• Patient diagnoses include device implants: PPM and ICD
• Minimum 2 years of experience required
• Must have IR experience - 90% of cases are IR
• Required skills: scrub, circulate, telemetry
• Preferred skills: perform EKG lead placement
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, and ARRT or RCIS
• Preferred certifications: ARRT Advanced Cert, RCES, RCIS with medical experience
• Special equipment includes: GE MAC Lab, Philips iFR/IVUS, Canon and GE Labs, Angio Jet, Penumbra, EKOS, Inari, CSI Atherectomy System, Bovi System, Plasma Blade Cutter, Radiofrequency Ablation Unit, Venous Closure Unit, Sono Site, S2000 Ultrasound Unit, IABP, and Impella
• Scrubs are provided
• Orientation: 40 to 80 hours; techs start directly on the unit on Mondays until Dimensions training is completed
