Job Details:

• 12-hour shift schedules with variable weekend requirements
• On-call schedule includes one overnight per week and three weekends per 13-week contract
• Weekend call runs from end of shift Friday until 6:30 AM Monday
• Required to work 1-2 of 3 upcoming summer holidays (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day) unless the unit is closed
• Patient ratio of 1:1 with an average caseload of 35-50 cases per day
• Turnaround time expectation between cases is less than 20 minutes
• 16 operating room suites with 12-14 running routinely; space reserved for trauma cases
• Scrubs provided by the facility
• Required to both scrub and circulate (scrub experience highly preferred)
• Must float across all campuses as assigned
• Special equipment includes 3 Da Vinci robots, Stealth technology for neuro navigation, and primarily Synthes or Stryker for ortho trauma
• Service lines include cardiac/peripheral vascular, neuro, orthopedics (primarily trauma), robotics, gynecology, urology, general, pediatrics, transplants, ENT, and plastics
• 24 months of current operating room experience required
• Circulating and operating room experience required
• Scrub experience highly preferred
• Experience in general, Da Vinci robotics, pediatrics, and trauma cases required
• Additional experience in neurology, orthopedics, gynecology, urology, transplants, plastics, ENT, and vascular highly preferred
• EPIC electronic medical systems experience within the previous 3 years required
• Trauma Level I experience highly preferred; Trauma Level II experience required
• Must have completed a travel assignment within the previous 15 months (no first-time travelers)
• Scrubbing experience in orthopedics required
• Skills checklist specific to Operating Room Nurse (scrub/scrubbing) required
• Active Iowa license or compact/multistate license required at time of submission
• Professional reference from a charge nurse, supervisor, nurse manager, director, CNO, or COO within the past 24 months preferred
• Valid driver's license required
• Required certifications: BLS (AHA)
