CVOR Technologist Job in Salem, VA

Join Lewisgale Medical Center VA as a Certified Surgical Technologist in our Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR). This is a full-time day shift position running 5x8 hours, 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM, with a 91-day contract starting September 14, 2026.

Role Overview

You will work in a two-suite CVOR environment managing 1:1 patient ratios. Your responsibilities include scrubbing, instrumentation, and supporting a surgical team composed of 3 RNs and 3 CSTs. You'll gain exposure to a variety of cardiovascular procedures and must be flexible, knowledgeable, and capable of working independently.

Typical Procedures

• Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting (CABG)
• Thoracotomy
• Endovascular Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm (Endo AAA) repair
• Valve Replacement
• Pacemaker procedures

Requirements

• Current CVOR experience is required—candidates without this background will not be considered
• ACLS and BLS certifications
• Scrubbing experience preferred
• Ability to work weekday, weekend, and holiday call schedules
• Willingness to float to the OR when needed

Work Environment

You will use the Meditech EMR system and work in light blue scrubs provided by the facility. This role demands flexibility and a self-starting approach to meet the demands of a fast-paced cardiovascular surgery center.

Compensation

Weekly pay: $2,131
