Med Surg RN Job in Little Rock, AR

CHI St Vincent Infirmary is seeking a Registered Nurse for a Med Surg float pool position in Little Rock, AR. You will work 3 shifts of 12 hours on day shift with every other weekend required, earning $1,939 weekly over an 84-day assignment beginning October 12, 2026.

Role Overview

You will float across multiple Med/Surg pods, including 2 surgical units and 2 medical units, rotating between Med/Onc, general surgical, and medical patient care areas as needed. Your nurse-to-patient ratio will be 1:6 with a total care model—there are no PCAs on staff. You will provide comprehensive patient care without telemetry monitoring responsibilities, though occasional strip reading may occur.

Responsibilities and Support

• Deliver direct patient care across rotating surgical and medical units
• Float as needed to cover pod demands; you are designated as first to float
• Collaborate with readily available respiratory therapy staff; you will not manage vents, CPAP, BiPap, or high-flow equipment
• Use remote telemetry monitoring available on the unit for patient oversight
• Chart in Cerner EHR system

Patient Population

Common diagnoses include surgical services such as colorectal, hepatobiliary, bariatric, general, and orthopedic procedures, as well as medical conditions including diabetes, heart disease, COPD, kidney disease, and GI disorders.

Schedule and Benefits

You will work 48 guaranteed hours per week across 3 twelve-hour shifts. There are no on-call or standby requirements and no holiday obligations. You receive 3 shifts of unit and department-specific orientation to support your success.

Requirements

• Current RN license
• BLS certification (AHA or ARC)
• Large hospital experience required
• Basic medical and surgical relevant and current experience
• Navy scrubs required (not provided)
