Med Surg RN Job in Little Rock, AR

CHI St Vincent Infirmary is seeking a Registered Nurse for a Med Surg float pool position in Little Rock, Arkansas. You will work three 12-hour night shifts per week with every other weekend required, earning $2,010 weekly over an 84-day assignment beginning November 9, 2026.

Role Overview

As a float pool RN, you will rotate across two surgical units and two medical units, providing total care to patients with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:6. You will be the first to float to Med/Surg pods as operational needs dictate. A charge nurse is present on each shift and carries a patient assignment.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver direct patient care across medical and surgical populations
• Manage common diagnoses including colorectal, hepatobiliary, bariatric, and orthopedic surgical cases, as well as medical conditions such as diabetes, heart disease, COPD, kidney, and GI disorders
• Perform occasional EKG strip reading with remote telemetry monitoring available
• Collaborate with readily available respiratory therapy staff (you will not be required to manage RT equipment in Med/Surg)
• Document all patient care in Cerner

Unit Support

Nurse aides and patient care techs are available with varying ratios to support your workflow. No PCAs are assigned on your unit, but support staff assist with patient care activities. You will receive three shifts of unit and department-specific orientation.

Scheduling & Staffing

Scheduling is assigned based on need areas; self-scheduling is not available. The hospital may cancel up to four shifts per 13-week assignment. There are no holiday or on-call/standby requirements.

Requirements

• Current RN licensure
• BLS certification (AHA or ARC) required
• Large hospital experience required
• Current medical/surgical relevant clinical experience required
• BSN not required
• Navy scrubs required; scrubs not provided by the facility
