Med Surg RN Job in Little Rock, AR

CHI St Vincent Infirmary in Little Rock, AR is seeking a Registered Nurse for a Med Surg float pool position. This is a 91-day travel assignment starting September 21, 2026, offering $1,939 weekly pay.

Schedule and Shift Details

• 3 shifts per week, 12-hour day shifts (7:00 AM to 7:00 PM)
• Every other weekend requirement
• No holiday requirement
• No on-call or standby requirement

Role and Responsibilities

• Float pool position rotating between Med/Onc, 2 surgical units, and 2 medical units
• Floating required to any Med/Surg pod as assigned to need areas
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:6
• Total care model with no PCAs
• Charge nurse present on each shift and takes an assignment
• Nurse aides and patient care techs available with varying ratios
• Respiratory therapy readily available to assist; RNs not required to manage RT equipment in Med/Surg
• No telemetry required; occasional strip reading only with remote tele monitoring available

Patient Population

Common patient diagnoses include surgical services such as colorectal, hepatobiliary, bariatric, general, and orthopedic; medical conditions including diabetes, heart disease, COPD, kidney, and GI conditions.

• Large hospital setting
• Charting system is Cerner
• 3 shifts of unit/department-specific orientation provided
• Navy scrubs required; scrubs not provided
• Staff assigned to need areas; no self-scheduling

Requirements

• Active Arkansas RN license required
• Current BLS (AHA) certification required
• Basic medical/surgical relevant and current experience required
• Large hospital experience required
• No first-time travelers accepted
• BSN not required
