Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg

Job Details:

• 36 or 48 hour shift schedules considered
• One on-call shift per 6-week schedule required
• 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule (Saturday and Sunday are considered weekend shifts)
• Patient ratios of 5:1 for days, nights, and weekends
• 40 hours of orientation required
• Care for adult and geriatric patient populations
• Daily census of 10-13 patients across 13 beds
• Common patient diagnoses include post-op, orthopedic, diabetes, pneumonia, wound care, CBI, and URO cases
• Med-surg unit with no telemetry monitoring or cardiovascular drips
• Interdisciplinary support available including physical therapy, respiratory services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, and pharmacy
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• Minimum 2 years of experience in Med Surg required
• Travel experience required
• Experience with Allscripts/Altera charting system preferred
• Community hospital experience preferred
• Required skills include accessing/managing ports, BiPAP/CPAP management, blood product administration, central line blood draw, chest tubes, colostomy/ileostomy management, continuous bladder irrigation, telemetry, wound care/wound vac, PICC line management, heparin, insulin, and use of rapid response/code teams among others
