Med Surg RN Job in Florence, SC

You will work as a Registered Nurse in the Medical-Surgical unit at MUSC Health - Florence. This is a 91-day travel assignment beginning August 24, 2026.

Schedule and Compensation

• Three 12-hour night shifts per week, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Weekly pay: $1,879
• Every other weekend requirement, including Saturday and Sunday
• No on-call required unless placed on call for a scheduled shift due to census, then an 8-hour call requirement applies
• Facility may call off 1 shift per 2 weeks
• Block schedule requests can be submitted for approval prior to assignment but are not guaranteed

Unit Details

• Patient ratios: 1:6-7 for days, nights, and weekends
• Floating within scope to meet facility needs may be required
• Department focuses on medical and surgical patients; orthopedic and neuro experience preferred

Requirements

• South Carolina RN license or Compact license required prior to start
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications
• Minimum 2 years of experience preferred; first-time travelers considered on a case-by-case basis
• Proficiency with Epic charting system

Clinical Skills

You will manage blood product administration, central line blood draws, telemetry monitoring, wound care and wound vac management, tracheostomy care, and PICC line management. You will support total joint replacement, orthopedic trauma, and pre- and post-neurosurgery patients, including those with traumatic brain injury and spinal cord injury. Additional skills include heparin and PCA management, high-flow nasal cannula delivery, and participation in rapid response and code teams.
