PACU - Post Anesthesia Care

Opportunity:

Registered Nurse - PACU

Job Details:

• Work 5 days per week, 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM
• Guaranteed 24 hours per week
• No on-call, no weekends, and no holidays required
• Prepare patients before surgery including IV placement, nursing assessment, and pre-op medication administration
• Recover patients in Phase I and Phase II post-anesthesia care
• Provide discharge education to patients and families
• Primary surgery specialties include ENT and ophthalmology procedures such as cataract surgery, cornea transplants, facial plastic reconstruction, cochlear implantation, and sinus surgery
• Patient population includes adolescents and adults (all patients 14 years and older)
• Patient ratios are 1:2 in Phase I and 1:3 in Phase II
• Daily census ranges from 15 to 25 patients
• Navy surgical scrubs provided by facility
• Must float within service line as needed
• Epic charting system experience required
• Minimum 5 years of experience required
• First-time travelers accepted with 2 years of PACU experience and Epic experience
• Previous pre/post-anesthesia care experience required
• Strong IV start skills and nursing assessment skills required
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS
