About this role

You will work as a Registered Nurse in the Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) at Barnes-Jewish Hospital Nursing in Saint Louis, Missouri. This is a 91-day travel assignment beginning August 3, 2026.

Schedule & Compensation

  • 3x12-hour night shifts, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, Monday through Friday
  • 40 guaranteed hours per week
  • Weekly pay: $2,086.82
  • No weekend requirements
  • On-call required: 24 hours per 6-week schedule period as needed
  • Maximum 7 days of requested time off per contract

Role Responsibilities

  • Manage postoperative patients in a 1:2 patient ratio
  • Monitor and care for patients with multiple drains, vasoactive drips, and mechanical ventilation
  • Pre-op patients for first cases from 5:30 AM to 7:30 AM when PACU census allows
  • Float within service line to support facility needs
  • Recognize and manage dysrhythmias; pass Relias EKG exam
  • Provide Phase I PACU care, pre-op assessment, education, and medication administration
  • Support pre- and post-IR procedures

Patient Population & Surgical Specialties

  • Surgical patients include GU, GYN, colorectal, minimally invasive, bariatric, some ENT, and IR procedures
  • Patient age groups: adolescents, adults, and geriatrics

Required Qualifications

  • Current RN license
  • Minimum 1 year of experience; first-time travelers accepted
  • Critical care experience required; at least 1 year in critical care or Level I Trauma Center preferred
  • PACU experience required
  • Trauma Level I experience required; Level II preferred
  • Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, Ventilator Management, IV Start, Telemetry, Critical Care
  • Proficiency with Epic charting system required
  • Home address must be at least 75 miles from facility

  • IV vasopressor administration
  • Starting and maintaining IVs

Navy scrubs are required. You must be willing to travel and relocate for the duration of this assignment.
