MRI Technologist Job in Tulsa, OK

You will operate magnetic resonance imaging equipment at Yale Campus Hospital in Tulsa to produce diagnostic cross-sectional images of patient anatomy. This is a travel position offering 5x8 evening shifts for 89 weeks, with weekly compensation of $2,812.

Your responsibilities include:

• Operate MRI equipment according to department policy and established protocols
• Prepare and position patients for MRI procedures, setting up necessary equipment such as coils and monitoring devices
• Screen patients and personnel for metal objects or contraindicated implants before entering the scan room
• Perform quality control tests on department equipment and report discrepancies
• Collect and evaluate examination information from scheduling, patients, and referring physicians
• Manipulate and display images using console keyboard and mouse for physician review
• Send images to PACS system, evaluate exams for completeness, and verify in a timely manner
• Maintain accurate documentation on logbook worksheets and charge examinations and supplies accordingly
• Communicate clearly with patients, answering questions with patience and courtesy
• Work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals and staff internally and externally

Required qualifications:

• Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology Program or MRI accredited program
• Current certification: ARRT-R or ARMRIT, and BLS
• Knowledge of anatomy and physiology
• MRI experience (2 years preferred)
• Ability to organize and prioritize work effectively

Preferred qualifications:

• Cardiac MRI experience
• ARRT (MR) certification
