Job Details:

• Operate magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) equipment to produce cross-sectional images of patient body for diagnostic purposes
• Perform MRI examinations according to department policy and protocols
• Prepare and position patients for MRI procedures of various body parts, including setting up equipment such as coils and monitoring devices
• Perform Quality Control tests on department equipment and report any discrepancies to proper personnel
• Collect and evaluate relevant examination information from scheduling, patients, and referring physicians, including screening information
• Maintain departmental records and patient information according to policy
• Screen patients and personnel for any metal objects or implants that could cause harm to the patient or equipment
• Ensure no patient, visitor, or healthcare worker enters the scan room with metal objects or contraindicated implants
• Evaluate results of scanning procedures for quality and completeness
• Manipulate and display images through use of console keyboard and mouse for physician review
• Send images to PACS system, evaluate exam for completeness, and verify exam in a timely manner
• Maintain accurate documentation on logbook worksheets and charge examinations and supplies accordingly
• Communicate clearly with patients, answering questions with patience and courtesy
• Work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals and staff both internally and externally
• MRI experience required (2 years preferred)
• Cardiac MRI experience preferred
• Knowledge of anatomy and physiology required
• Ability to organize and prioritize work in an effective and efficient manner
• Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology Program or an MRI accredited program required
• Required certifications: ARRT-R or ARMRIT, and BLS
• Preferred certification: ARRT (MR)
