CVOR Registered Nurse Job in Indianapolis, IN

IU Health Methodist Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Cardiothoracic Vascular Operating Room (CVOR). You will work as a circulator in a Level 1 Trauma Center supporting complex cardiovascular and transplant procedures.

Position Details

• Schedule: 4x10 days, weekday shifts
• Duration: 91 days
• Start date: September 21, 2026
• Weekly pay: $2,896
• On-call requirement: approximately 90–120 hours per 6-week schedule, including 1 call weekend per 6 weeks (Friday evening to Monday morning)
• Orientation: 40 hours

Role Requirements

• Current BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience
• Circulator experience in a Level 1 Trauma Center required
• Travel nursing experience required; first-time travelers accepted if you have Level 1 Trauma experience
• Experience with heart and lung transplants, valve replacements, aortic dissections, receiving pump lines from perfusion, and preparing cannulation
• Core 5 requirement: scores of 3s and 4s in CV, PV, Heart, and Lung Transplant competencies
• Cerner charting system experience preferred

Clinical Scope

• Patient population: adults and geriatric age groups
• Patient ratio: 1:1
• Role is circulator; scrubbing is not required
• Float to other OR specialties as needed
• CV call and holiday coverage required
• Special procedures: heart and lung transplants, aortic dissections, ECMO
• Special equipment: da Vinci XI
