PCU - Progressive Care Unit

RN - Stepdown

Job Details:

• Cardiac Stepdown unit position
• 12-hour shifts with 36 guaranteed hours per week
• Day shift patient ratio of 4:1 and night shift patient ratio of 5:1
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call required
• Minimum 2 years of experience required; first-time travelers not accepted
• Travel experience required; local candidates not accepted (must be outside 50-mile radius)
• Will float within scope to meet facility needs
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
• Tennessee or compact license required
• Charting system: Paragon
• Required skills include: BiPAP/CPAP management, blood product administration, cardiac telemetry, central line care and management, chest tubes, feeding tube care and management, heparin protocols, high flow nasal cannula (HFNC), interpretation of arterial blood gases (ABGs), interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, cardiac drip management, post cardiac angiogram, post MI care, pre/post cardiac catheterization, pre/post cardiac surgery, pre/post hemodialysis management, telemetry monitoring, wound care, and use of rapid response and code teams
• Masimo vital sign monitoring equipment in every room
• Interdisciplinary support available including physical therapy, respiratory services, radiology, pharmacy, social services, and rapid response teams
• Patients are adults with cardiac stepdown diagnoses
