ED - Emergency Room

RN - ER

Job Details:

• 12-week contract position with urgent staffing need
• Provide emergency nursing care for a combined adult and pediatric patient population including neonates, infants, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
• Work in a 42-bed emergency department with a daily census of 200 patients
• Level II or III trauma experience required
• Minimum 2 years of emergency room experience required in an ER of equivalent size
• Recent ER travel experience within the past 6-8 months preferred
• Cerner charting system experience preferred
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC, NIHSS, NRP (must be willing to obtain if offered)
• Proficiency required in a wide range of emergency skills including triage, IV placement, 12-lead EKG/ECG, interpretation of dysrhythmias, management of dysrhythmias, BiPAP/CPAP management, care of ventilated patients, chest tube management, procedural sedation, IV vasopressors, splint application, blood product administration, and arterial blood gas interpretation
• Experience managing conditions including acute psychosis, drug overdose, seizures, head injury, CVA, gunshot wounds, traumatic amputation, spinal cord injury, sickle cell crisis, and multisystem organ dysfunction/failure
• Interdisciplinary support available including respiratory services, social services, pharmacy, and unit secretary
• Expect to work some holidays
