Respiratory Therapist Job in Wausau, WI

Aspirus Wausau Hospital is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) for a 13-week travel contract. You will work three 12-hour day shifts per week, from 6:30 AM to 7:00 PM, with guaranteed 36 hours weekly. This role includes every other weekend and holiday rotation.

In this position, you will float throughout all patient care areas of the hospital, including the emergency department and general care areas. You may be required to float to other central locations with advance notice. Your responsibilities include:

• Provide emergency services for Rapid Response and Code Blue situations
• Perform basic respiratory care, critical care, and ventilator management
• Conduct patient assessments using Assess and Treat Protocols
• Provide care for all age groups, including pediatric patients
• Operate equipment including V60 BiPAP, Hamilton G5 and C1, and iSTAT
• Document care in EPIC

Required qualifications:

• NBRC RRT certification (NBRC CRT accepted if RRT obtained within one year)
• Active Wisconsin respiratory therapy license
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications
• AHA or ARC certifications
• Associate Degree or Certificate in Respiratory Therapy
• Minimum 3 years of respiratory therapy experience
• Pediatric experience required
• Previous travel healthcare experience required

Additional requirements:

• You must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility
• Dress code: closed-toe shoes, scrubs any color, clean appearance; no smoking or scent allowed; piercings per facility policy

Contract begins September 8, 2026. Weekly pay is $2,428.20.
