Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg Tele

Job Details:

• Medical/Telemetry unit focused on cardiac patient population including adults and geriatrics
• Day/Evening patient ratios are 5:1 (with potential stretch to 6-7:1)
• Night patient ratios are expected to be 6-7:1 (with potential stretch to 8-10:1 if staff calls in)
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call required
• Floating within scope to meet facility needs is required
• Block scheduling available but not guaranteed
• Minimum 1 year of recent RN experience required
• First-time travelers accepted
• New York state nursing license required and must be in hand at time of submission
• Candidates within 75 miles of facility are not accepted
• Maximum of 1 week of requested time off per contract
• Epic charting experience is a hard requirement
• Scrub color: Any combination of navy and white
• Required certifications: BLS, NIHSS
• Mandatory competency in phlebotomy and IV placement required
• Required skills include: interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, use of Rapid Response/Code teams, peripheral line care and management, nasal cannula, oxygen administration and tank management, non-invasive airway management, isolation precautions/PPE
• PCTs available on all units to assist with vital signs, blood glucose checks, EKGs, and activities of daily living
• Interdisciplinary support includes IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and more
• 19-bed unit with 16 orientation hours provided
