Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg Neuro

Job Details:

• Work three 12-hour shifts per week
• Schedule requires 2 weekends (4 shifts) per 4-week schedule
• Patient ratio of 6:1 on 20-bed neurological medical/surgical unit
• Tech support available on day and night shifts
• Unit secretary coverage from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
• Contract staff are first to float based on rotation when multiple contract workers are scheduled
• Required to wear navy scrubs (tops and bottoms)
• Work with equipment including IV pumps, telemetry, SCDs, continuous pulse ox machines, feeding pumps, PCA, EKG machines, bladder scanner, and iMobile communication technology
• Use Meditech documentation system
• Medical/surgical experience required with ability to prioritize care and multitask
• Must be proficient in starting IVs, basic wound care, and maintenance of surgical drains, nasogastric tubes, and chest tubes
• BLS certification required
• Active RN license required
• Expected to provide attentive and compassionate care with bedside shift reports and patient/family engagement in care planning
