Opportunity:

RN - ED Hold

Job Details:

• 12-hour shifts available (7:00 AM - 7:00 PM or 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM)
• Night shift position with 4 weekend shifts required per 4-week schedule
• Must work 2 of 4 major holidays, rotating in with permanent staff
• First to float to med/surg/tele/overflow units and additional ED locations as needed
• 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio
• No on-call requirement
• Minimum 2 years of recent experience required (within the past 6 months)
• Strong cardiac telemetry background required, preferably 2 years
• Must be able to read and interpret cardiac rhythm strips independently (no monitor tech available)
• Must be able to titrate and decrease cardiac drips per physician orders and parameters
• Common titratable drips include Cardizem, Heparin, and Amiodarone
• Care for ED hold patients waiting for inpatient bed placement, primarily MS/Tele patients
• May assist with ED patients including vitals, IV starts, and medication administration (will not serve as primary RN for ED patient assignment)
• ED PCTs available on unit
• No ventilator management required
• Must pass a dysrhythmia exam within 48 hours of receiving offer via RELIAS (maximum 2 attempts)
• Must pass a SIM LAB assessment (Pass/Fail) on day one of orientation (study guides provided)
• 2-shift orientation to Med/Surg/Tele at primary campus
• Charting system: Cerner
• Scrub color: Navy
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS - AHA or APEX
• This is a telemetry position requiring telemetry skills
