About this role

Southwestern Vermont Medical Center is seeking an RN for Med/Surg nursing on the night shift. This is a 36-hour work week (3x12 nights) running for 89 days, starting June 22, 2026. You will earn $2,312.64 per week.

Unit Overview

You will work across two distinct Med/Surg units:

  • East Unit: Hallway-based layout with 2 nursing stations and 20 private patient rooms
  • West Unit: Adjacent to the ICU with 23 semi-private rooms arranged in a circular setup with a central hub

Both units are equipped with telemetry monitoring capabilities to support continuous patient observation.

Your Role

As an RN, you will provide comprehensive medical-surgical nursing care, including patient monitoring and assessment throughout your shift. You will collaborate with healthcare team members—physicians, respiratory therapists, nursing assistants, and colleagues—to ensure quality patient outcomes and coordinated care delivery.

Your responsibilities will include vital sign monitoring, medication administration, wound care, patient education, and communication with the interdisciplinary team. You will use your clinical judgment to identify changes in patient status and respond appropriately.

What You'll Need

Current RN licensure in Vermont is required. Experience in medical-surgical nursing is preferred. You should be comfortable working nights and managing a patient assignment across a busy unit.

This travel contract offers competitive weekly pay and the opportunity to build your experience in a community medical center setting. Southwestern Vermont Medical Center provides a stable, supportive environment for nursing professionals.
