Respiratory Therapist Job in Portland, ME

You'll work as a Registered Respiratory Therapist at MMC-P Bramhall Campus in Portland, Maine, on a travel assignment of 112 days beginning October 5, 2026. This is a night shift backfill position, offering 4x12 hour shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM with 36 guaranteed weekly hours. Weekly compensation is $2,860.

Responsibilities

• Manage respiratory care across a full-service facility with a team of 14–16 RRTs
• Float across multiple units including NICU, PICU, acute care pediatrics, ED, adult acute care, and critical care areas
• Maintain patient ratios of 1:25 in acute settings and 1:8 in critical care
• Operate advanced equipment including Drager V500 and VN500, Hamilton T1 and C1, Respironics V30 and V60, Trilogy ventilators, Airvo, and Vapotherm systems
• Document in EPIC electronic medical record system
• Cover oncoming shift call responsibilities of up to 2 hours

Requirements

• Current RRT credential required
• Minimum 3 years respiratory therapy experience
• Tertiary and teaching hospital background required
• Level 1 trauma center experience required
• NICU and PICU experience preferred; cardiothoracic experience preferred
• BLS certification required; NRP required for NICU assignments; ACLS preferred
• Demonstrated flexibility, strong teamwork, and clear communication skills
