Respiratory Therapist Job in Portland, ME

You'll work as a Registered Respiratory Therapist at MMC-P Bramhall Campus, a tertiary teaching hospital with level 1 trauma designation. This is a backfill position running 140 days, starting November 2, 2026.

Schedule & Hours

• 4x12 hour day shifts: 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
• 36 guaranteed hours per week
• Every other weekend rotation required
• Approximately one call shift per month with 2-hour call-in requirement

Role Scope

You'll float across the facility as part of a team of 14–16 registered respiratory therapists, covering NICU, PICU, acute care pediatrics, ED, adult acute, and critical care units. Patient ratios are 1:25 for acute care and 1:8 for critical care. Work schedules are determined by departmental operational needs.

Requirements

• RRT credential required
• 3+ years of experience required
• Tertiary teaching hospital experience required
• Level 1 trauma experience required
• BLS certification required
• ACLS preferred
• NRP required for NICU assignments
• NICU/PICU and cardiothoracic experience preferred

Equipment & Systems

You'll operate Drager V500 and VN500, Hamilton T1 and C1, Respironics V30 and V60, Trilogy line, Airvo, and Vapotherm ventilators. The facility uses EPIC for electronic medical records.
