PCU - Progressive Care Unit

Opportunity:

RN - PCU

Job Details:

• 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Guaranteed 48 hours per week
• 13-week contract
• Every other weekend required
• Every other holiday rotation required
• Float to all inpatient units as needed
• Contract eligible for 36 hours of low census unbillable hours - can be low censused in hour increments as needed; unit will typically low census in 4-hour increments and may ask traveler to work only 4 or 8 hours of a shift
• 44-bed intermediate cardiac stepdown unit; fast-paced with high patient turnover
• Patient population includes post-op CABG/Valve, thoracotomy, vascular, arrhythmia, CHF, post-procedure cath, pacer, defib, ablations, acute chest pain/MI, med/surg overflow including detox, DKA, COPD exacerbation, respiratory failure, and Fem Pop Bypass
• Typical patient ratio of 1:4
• Must be able to work independently, manage tasks in a timely manner, and adapt well to change
• Scrub colors: any color
• Minimum 1 year of strong cardiac experience required (Cardiac SDU, Intermediate Cardiac, or Cardiac ICU)
• Minimum 2 years of IMC/PCU/Telemetry experience required
• Must have experience with Amiodarone, Cardizem, and Nitro Drips
• At least one prior travel assignment required
• Minimum 1 year of recent Epic charting experience required
• Must be able to pass EKG test within the first week of hire
• Required certifications: Wisconsin RN License, BLS and ACLS (AHA or ARC)
• Associate Degree or Certificate required; Bachelor's Degree preferred
